House rules, campaign notes, essays and rants

I love tinkering with the rules for various role-playing games. I love tweaking and “fixing” the things so as to get them “juuuust right.” Of course, what I find to be “juuuust right” may be what you find to be evil and even downright rude. Anyway, here are some of my tinkerings that I’ve finished to the point of being web-ready.

Etan - My first RPG world

A Medivalized Metric System - Originally for Etan, but “usable in any game system”

Percentile Hero - Using percentile dice in the HERO system for finer granularity

The Broken World - House rules and campaign background for a D&D3.5e game

The Brotherhood of Rangers - House rules and campaign background for another D&D3.5e game

A rant on the layout of the D&D3e rulebooks

Another rant: This one on why GMs should give players exact distances in descriptions

Third Edition Thoughts: A third rant, this one on the good & bad parts of D&D 3.0/3.5

A rambling essay on the different ways magic might work in a campaign world
